The Forest

Sounds too easy, right? But that’s the recipe of director Jason Zada. Sara (Natalie Dormer, “Game of Thrones”) and Jess are identical twins and US citizens. But as is always the case: a drastic experience in their childhood together has significantly influenced their development. While Jess has to watch her parents’ car accident, Sara is spared. Adulthood, Jess spins something on the bike, breaks out, lives the more dangerous life of the two twin sisters.

So it does not surprise Sara not know that one day Jess is missing. This has happened more often in the past. At least Sara knows that Jess is in Doctor Strange Japan. But then she suddenly catches the feeling that something is wrong. She immediately goes in search of Jess and flies to Japan.

There she quickly discovers that Jess wanted to visit the Aokigahara. The forest is known in Japan and beyond the country’s borders Pete’s Dragon as a suicide forest. Those who want to put an end to their lives, travel to the foot of Fuji, enter the Aokigahara and walk off the official roads. Sara follows her sister.
